OVERVIEW
Inventor Series: REP® x PÉPIN™ FAST Series™ Adjustable Dumbbell
REP® has innovative minds on our Colorado-based engineering team. At the same time, we sometimes run across other inventors doing awesome things. These are our people. We want to support them. That's why we created the Inventor Series: a special line of products invented by small, outstanding inventors from around the world. We collaborate with the best of the best. And then work closely alongside them to optimize their ideas, using our resources and knowledge of the home and commercial gym market. The goal is to simultaneously lift up other gym equipment inventors, while making their amazing products more accessible to more people. It's a win-win-win. The REP® x PÉPIN™ FAST Series™ adjustable dumbbell is a partnership between REP and Canada-based Pépin.
Meet the REP® x PÉPIN™ FAST Series™ adjustable dumbbell. These premier adjustable dumbbells are heavier and more compact than most adjustable dumbbells on the market. An adjustable dumbbell that starts at 10lbs and can go up to 125lbs at only 18.3” long is pretty much unheard of. All steel, CNC-cut plates with a black powder coating allow the dumbbells to be incredibly compact, very accurate, and look and feel great. In addition, they’re extremely durable. Both the dumbbells and the cradles are constructed entirely of metal (with UHMW liners to prevent steel-on-steel contact) and have been extensively drop-tested from every angle. The steel cradles allow you to rerack the dumbbells without worrying about being overly gentle, as would be the case if the cradles were plastic.
And it’s quick, easy, safe, and satisfying to change the weight in 10lb increments – with just the press of a magnetic pop-pin. Adjust weight inside or outside the cradles (ideal for drop sets). Or add the included 2.5lb micro-plates for smaller adjustments. Adjustable dumbbells take up a small footprint in your gym, especially when compared with a standard set of 10-125lb dumbbells.
The REP® x PÉPIN dumbbells are offered in 85lb, 105lb, or 125lb pairs. The 85lb pair meets the needs of most lifters but is still upgradeable to the heavier options in the future. The cradle also expands, so no matter the weight, you never need to buy a new cradle; simply unscrew the end pieces and screw them back into the correct, pre-drilled holes. These dumbbells feature high-end details, like nickel-plated handles with volcano-style knurling; functional side rails with comfortable, rounded outside edges; UHMW protective liners to prevent scratches from steel-on-steel contact; laser-etched weight markings (no cheap stickers!); and more. Pro-style heads look and feel like regular dumbbells, but the flat bottom still keeps the dumbbells from rolling on the ground. They’re further elevated with an aesthetic "REP® x PÉPIN" nameplate on the cradle and REP® mountain logo cutouts on the ends of the cradles. Make no compromises. A new bar for the best adjustable dumbbells has been set.
Note: The REP® x PÉPIN™ FAST Series™ is designed exclusively for flat storage and operation, meaning it’s optimized for use on level surfaces. Using it on an angled surfaces, trays, or racks may impact its performance and stability, leading to potential operational issues.

FAQS
-
Why choose an adjustable dumbbell instead of fixed dumbbells?
Adjustable dumbbells take up less space than a set of fixed dumbbells. A pair of 125lb REP x PÉPIN FAST Series Adjustable Dumbbells can replace 23 pairs of fixed dumbbells (10lbs-125lbs).
-
What makes these better than other adjustable dumbbells?
Most other products cannot go as heavy, or if they can, they're slow to adjust.
Our dumbbell retains the shape of a traditional dumbbell, with guide rails that add function. Other heavy adjustable dumbbells are bulky or oddly shaped, sacrificing the feel of a traditional dumbbell.
Other quick-adjust dumbbells use fragile plastic parts that control the adjustment mechanism, and if they break, the dumbbell is useless.
Other quick-adjust dumbbells that advertise all-metal construction typically still have hidden gearing made of plastic. Or if it is metal, it's still a small, moving piece hidden from view with unknown, real-world strength. Our adjustment mechanism is a thick steel bar. It's simple to use and simple to understand; that's why it's incredibly strong.
Other adjustable dumbbells advertising drop resistance typically only drop them straight down—the easiest test. Edge drops are a tougher measure of durability in real-world testing, and we incorporate those in our durability tests.
Our dumbbells are expandable by simply buying more plates. Many other systems lock you into whatever size you originally buy.
We're using premium materials throughout. Nickel plating on the knurled handle, combined with strategic use of Cerakote, powder coating, and stainless-steel hardware choices, all create one of the most durable and beautiful adjustable dumbbells ever made.

What’s the difference between the REP® x PÉPIN™ FAST Series™ adjustable dumbbells and REP’s QuickDraw™ Adjustable Dumbbells?
While there are some similarities – such as volcano-style knurled, steel handles; micro jumps of 2.5lbs or 5lbs; extensive drop-testing; space-saving capabilities; quick and easy weight changes; the ability to expand weight over time; a max length of just over 18”; and a pro-style shape with a flat bottom to prevent rolling – there are many differences. A few of the main ones include:
The weight capacity: The QuickDraw™ starts at 5lbs and goes up to a 60lbs max. The REP x PÉPIN starts at 10lbs and tops out at 125lbs. The QuickDraw™ comes in the following sizes: 30lbs, 40lbs, 50lbs, and 60lbs. The REP x PÉPIN in 85lb, 105lb, or 125lb pairs.
The materials: The QuickDraw™ has steel switches and an almost-all steel construction accented by strong, nylon composite. The REP x PÉPIN dumbbells and cradles are constructed entirely of metal, with UMHW liners to prevent steel-on-steel contact.
The mechanism to change the weight: The QuickDraw™ uses a Lock-N-Load switch; you can flip one switch at a time or multiple switches all at once for fast weight changes. The REP x PÉPIN uses a magnetic pop-pin.
Design: The QuickDraw™ dumbbells are entirely new to the market, whereas REP x PÉPIN dumbbells were created as a partnership between REP and a Canadian inventor, as part of REP’s Inventor Series. The original concept of these dumbbells started with Pépin, and REP recognizes and honors his exceptional work in the fitness industry.
-
What's the difference between the original PÉPIN™ FAST Series™ adjustable dumbbells and the REP® x PÉPIN™ FAST Series™ adjustable dumbbells?
REP x PÉPIN FAST Series adjustable dumbbells start at 10lbs rather than the original's 20lbs. This was achieved by incorporating high-strength aluminum in the headplates of the handle.
The handle side rail coating was changed to Cerakote with a high-contrast laser-etching to better see the weight markings.
The cradle is now expandable.
We did a lot of "invisible" work alongside Pépin himself to turn this originally handmade product into one that is manufacturable, to make it accessible to a wider audience -- without sacrificing quality.
-
Can I use my existing PÉPIN™ FAST Series™ adjustable dumbbell handles and plates?
No. Due to subtle changes in the design of the dumbbell and cradle, original PÉPIN FAST Series components are not compatible with the REP x PÉPIN FAST Series Adjustable Dumbbell.
-
How much do these dumbbells weigh?
They are sold in 85, 105, and 125lb pairs, but the 85lb and 105lb pairs are also expandable. If you buy the 85lb or 105lb pair, you can later buy more plates up to the 125lb max. You can also easily expand your existing cradles. Shop the REP x PÉPIN FAST Series Adjustable Dumbbell Add-On Weights.
-
What are the weight increments?
Each REP x PÉPIN FAST Series Adjustable Dumbbell comes with two micro-adjustment plates that weigh 2.5lbs each. Using these weights, you can increase the weight of each dumbbell in 5lb increments up to 125lbs. The micro-adjustment plates also allow for 2.5lb adjustments, if you don't mind the small imbalance between the two heads. Having the micro-adjustment plate inside the handle and closer to the center of gravity reduces that issue.
-
What is the minimum and maximum weight of REP® x PÉPIN™ adjustable dumbbells?
The minimum weight of the adjustable dumbbell is 10lbs. The maximum weight is 125lbs.
-
How do you adjust how much weight is selected?
Adjusting the selected weight is super easy and satisfying. On the side rail selector rods on each dumbbell, just press the magnetic pop-pins out, slide them to your desired weight, and then press them back in to hear a click.
-
How quickly can you adjust the weight?
You can change weight very quickly -- even without the cradle, if you want to do drop sets. Just set the dumbbell down, press and slide the magnetic pop-pins, and then press them back into place.
-
Do the weights rattle at all?
While they may not be completely silent like fixed dumbbells, the overall design and tight tolerances allow for minimal noise.
-
What are CNC-cut plates?
CNC stands for "computer numerical control," a process of using computer software to control the movement and operation of machines that can cut, carve, or engrave materials.
-
Is there a stand for the REP® x PÉPIN™ FAST Series™ adjustable dumbbell?
Soon! Our engineers are currently developing a special cart that will work with both the QuickDraw™ and REP x PÉPIN FAST Series Adjustable Dumbbell.
-
Does the REP® x PÉPIN™ FAST Series™ adjustable dumbbell have a warranty?
Yes, it comes with a lifetime warranty.
REP will warranty these products from defects in material, functionality, and workmanship for the lifetime of the product. Lifetime warranty coverage ends when the product becomes unusable for reasons other than defects in material or workmanship. The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is nontransferable.
While we've ensured the dumbbell is designed to withstand occasional drops without issue, even pro-style, fixed dumbbells can be broken with repeated drops and abuse. If you have to drop your adjustable dumbbell, we recommend dropping it as flat as possible, as edge drops will put the most stress on the dumbbell.
The lifetime warranty does not cover:
Wear and tear due to normal usage (e.g., scratches, dents, rust).
Any damage to any part resulting from abnormal/abusive use (consistent drops), negligence, lack of care, accidents (drops/dings), incorrect use and/or operation of the dumbbell as specified in the user manual by REP.
